With the help of her fairy godmother, a kitchen maid mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, attends a palace ball where she meets the prince of her dreams. The story is told twice, first in verse, then in prose. The largest of the color plates depict a stage, within which the smaller plates tell the story pictorially as the plates are turned. First and last pages mounted on covers.
These pages depict the ending of the prose telling of Cinderella in which Cinderella runs from the ball and the Prince searches for the lady whose foot the glass slipper would fit. The Prince reaches Cinderella's home and rejoices when they find one another.
