Presentation inscription on upper wrapper: "Presented to Charles Hescock from Flora C. Eddy, Teacher".
This is a poem about a young frog who disobeyed his mother and went with his friend Mr. Rat to court Mrs. (sic) Mousie. They make merry for a while, but then the rat and mouse are eaten by cats, and, as he flees, the frog is eaten by a duck.
The illustration on the front cover shows the frog waving goodbye to his mother as he sets out to disobey her wishes. This is the same image shown on the first page.
