The first story in this book is The Doleful Story of the Babes in the Wood, which is a ballad that tells of two orphans who are abandoned and die in the woods because their evil guardian wants their inheritance. The second story in this book is The Lady Isabella's Tragedy, in which a young woman's stepmother has her killed and baked in a pie. The stepmother and the cook are punished with horrible fates, and the scullion-boy who tried to save the girl is made heir to the father's fortune.
Pages 13 and 14 contain verse and a floral design border.
